SportsSouth is shutting down for the six months of August and September.
The company announced in a statement that it had received more than 200 reports of heavy rain and flash flooding in the state.
It said it would work with local authorities to assess the impacts of the heavy rain, the flash flooding and other weather conditions.
SportsSouth operates three facilities in the northern part of the state: a golf course and the state’s only indoor golf course.
The state has experienced a number of extreme weather events over the last several years, including record heat waves, extreme floods and mudslides.
Sports South, which employs more than 2,000 people, has been operating in the southeastern part of South Carolina since 2012.
It was once one of the country’s largest indoor golf courses, but closed its doors in 2014.
